Opening Escrow
Your realtor will deposit your deposit check into an escrow account at a local title company.  A prelminary title report will also be ordered, and you will receive a copy of that from your agent.

From this point forward, the title company will be coordinating the purchase of your home, making sure all monies are accounted for, and assuring you clear title to the property.
