The Home Buying Process

Preparation
Before jumping into the fray, you will of course need to
plan and prepare for your home purchase. Can you afford to buy now, or do you need to save more money or improve your credit scores?  What are the tax advantages of owing a home?

You will want to understand the difference between prequalification and preapproval. You will want to know what closing costs to expect and whether it makes sense to pay points

I can help in finding a real estate agent who will be a good fit.  And finally, before you know it, you will be shopping for your new home.

Your'e in Escrow!
Once your offer is accepted you will be shouting to anyone who will listen that you are now "in escrow".  This is the day you have been planning, waiting and hoping for.  Take a moment to enjoy the feeling of accomplishment!

Being "in escrow" means an escrow has been opened for you, you are ready for inspections and an appraisal, and we can talk about locking in your rate.

The Closing
As we rapidly approach the finish line, I will
order your loan documents and your agent will set up the signing appointment.  In a few days, your transaction will be on record and you will will be anticipating your first mortgage payment.
